Camlock Reducers & Converters

CPP® Camlock reducers and converters connect different Camlock sizes or change from a Camlock connection to a hose tail or threaded fitting. Use them to adapt liquid-transfer hoses, IBC connections, pumps and pipework where the two connection sizes or types differ.

The range uses black glass-filled polypropylene (GFPP) bodies and the same material and pressure specifications as CPP® Regular 8 Camlocks. Female couplers carry 304 stainless steel cam arms, rings and pins and a PP Olefin Elastomer gasket. Male adaptors engage with the arms and gasket in the mating female coupler.

Choose the connections you need

  • Camlock reducers: 2″ female Camlock to ¾″, 1″ or 1½″ male Camlock.
  • Hose-tail adaptors: Type C (Part C) female Camlock and Type E (Part E) male Camlock versions for the hose bore shown on each product.
  • Threaded adaptors: Type A (Part A), Type B (Part B), Type D (Part D) and Type F (Part F) configurations with the connection specified on the product.
  • Special converters: 2″ female Camlock to S60X6 male buttress or ¾″–11.5 NHR male US garden hose thread.

Check both ends separately: the Camlock head size can be larger than the hose or thread size. A reducer changes the connection size; it does not regulate pressure.

Camlock and thread specifications

Camlock compatibility: Fits matching-size Camlock heads manufactured to EN 14420-7 or US specification A-A-59326. Check the head size and mating dimensions.

  • BSP male: BSPT, tapered external thread to ISO 7-1, designation R.
  • BSP female: BSPP, parallel internal thread to ISO 228-1, designation G.
  • NPT: tapered thread to ASME B1.20.1; the NPT fitting in this collection has a male thread.
  • NHR and S60X6: separate hose and buttress connections, respectively. Match the exact thread and suitable seal.

The Camlock gasket seals the Camlock joint. Threaded connections need their own appropriate sealing arrangement.

Working pressure — water service

Temperature Working pressure
−10°C 5 bar / approx. 73 psi
20°C 6.5 bar / approx. 94 psi
65°C 3 bar / approx. 44 psi

These guide ratings are based on water service. The complete assembly is limited by its lowest-rated component. Verify suitability under the intended operating conditions, including the liquid and temperature.

Secure hose tails with suitable clamps, support connected hoses and pipework, and release pressure before disconnecting. Select materials and seals to suit the liquid and operating conditions.
